Description

The Office of Minority Health and Health Disparities is pleased to present Maryland's 12th Annual Statewide Health Disparities Conference, Health is a State of Mind: Addressing Behavioral Health Disparities.

Attend the conference to:

  • Understand the state of behavioral health disparities and behavioral health needs in Maryland’s diverse populations
  • Discuss behavioral health needs of Maryland’s Veterans and their families
  • Learn about Mental Health First Aid
  • Recognize and identify prevention strategies in minority communities
  • Learn about community-based behavioral health initiatives

The Conference is free of charge. Healthy breakfast, lunch, and parking will be provided.

Conference check-in and healthy breakfast will take place from 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. The Conference opening session will start promptly at 8:00 a.m.

The Maryland Behavioral Health Administration’s Office of Workforce Development and Training is an approved sponsor of the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners for 5 Continuing Education Units (Category I) for licensed social workers in Maryland; as a sponsor of 5 Continuing Education Units acceptable to the Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists; and 5 Continuing Education Units (Category A) by the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists, and the Maryland Addiction and Behavioral-health Professionals Certification Board upon completion of this training and a completed evaluation. The Office of Workforce Development and Training maintains responsibility for this program.
